Objectives
VECOM
(Vehicle
Concept Modeling) (http://www.vecom.org/) is an Initial Training
Network of the EC Marie Curie Actions Programme in FP7, with a 4 year funding
(01.10.2008 – 30.09.2012), formed by a Consortium of 14 partners, research organizations
and OEMs, from several European countries
and coordinated by CMT-Motores Térmicos.
The aim of VECOM is to provide dedicated
research training in the emerging field of vehicle concept modeling for up-front
pre-CAD functional performance engineering, bridging between industry and academia
across
Europe
.
Training Programme
The 14 partners are committed to developing a structured and
dedicated training programme, mix of formal teaching (courses, workshops),
secondments to industry and on-the-job technical and research methodology training,
through participation in formal technical projects. This includes the
mobility of young researchers within and outside the Network,
since this is a key aspect to their formation
in R&D.
The Training Program is defined from an
industrial perspective, to embed the researchers and their activity in an
industrial context. By taking part in the training program, researchers will network
across
Europe
, bridging industry and academia, which will
fully prepare them for future career steps.
Globally, 17 Early Stage Researchers
(pre-doctoral) for a total of 504 pm and 9 Experienced Researchers (post-doctoral)
for a total of 84 pm should benefit from the VECOM training programme.
