CMT - Clean Mobility & Thermofluids offers two types of funded scholarships:

17Requisites
Master degree or equivalent with a background in one of the following topics: Propulsion systems, Sustainable Mobility, Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Energy, Combustion, Thermal Engines or Chemistry Engineering (others may also be considered).
In addition to the consideration given to the academic records of a candidate, specific knowledge in computer science and English will be valued.
Grant conditions
In normal circumstances, and depending on both the regulations of the University and the Spanish law and their possible changes, CMT - Clean Mobility & Thermofluids guarantees that the student will have a grant for up to 48 months maximum.
Please note that depending on the personal situation of each student, the legal procedures to formalize a grant in Spain can take about three months.
The expenses for any personal paperwork required by UPV for the enrolment are not supported by the grant.
Non-European students will have to pay a supplement of about 160 € for any registration at UPV and the expenses that may be required for legalizing their documents in Spain.

Year 1: 18.180 €/year
Year 2: 18.180 €/year
Year 3: 19.545 €/year
Year 4: 24.406 €/year
Doctoral studies fee: 300 €/year (approx.)
Social security and unemployment insurance: 6000 €/year (approx.)
The scholarship holders may be proposed as candidates for grants offered by official public programs (Spanish or regional governments, etc.) with additional benefits.

Post-doctoral position at CMT-Clean Mobility & Thermofluids
We’re looking for a highly skilled PhD on advanced optical techniques for combustion diagnostics to join research activities at CMT-Clean Mobility & Thermofluids. Our institute is carrying out highly detailed studies on gas turbine combustion, with a special focus on Sustainable Aviation Fuels, that should enable design more efficient and environmentally friendly aeroengines. If you have recently finished your PhD in this research field, and you’re eager to join an advanced research group, we’d love to hear from you. Applications open until January 15th 2026.
YOUR TASKS:
Participation in fundamental research on SAF combustion in simplified burners at engine-relevant pressure and temperature.
Co-Supervision of Master and PhD students.
Work within an interdisciplinary team working at the intersection of fluid dynamics, chemistry and thermal exchanges, both from an experimental and numerical point of view.
Access to state-of-the-art research tools, and opportunities to grow through international collaborations and conferences.
PREREQUISITES:
PhD degree on application of optical techniques to engineering, atmospheric science, physics, or chemistry problems.
Experience with high speed cameras, laser light sources, high-speed LEDs.
Experience with computational tools (e.g. Python, MATLAB).
Fluency in English (English level equivalent to C1)
OVERALL CONDITIONS:
3 year contract at 35000€/year. CMT will cover social security and medical insurances.
