Research at CMT is divided into different areas.

The global budget amounts to 8 million euros, of which approximately 60% comes from private funding and 40% from public funding at community, national and regional levels.

The methodology is based on the combination of four basic and applied research approaches, together with experiments and models.

Basic research to improve the understanding of the relevant physical/chemical processes involved.

Knowledge generation (TRL 1,2,3).

Applied studies to improve system performance and contribute to the development and innovation of systems.

Knowledge transfer (TRL 4,5,6).

Precise measurements obtained with state-of-the-art experimental facilities.

The CFD modeling software developed in-house, open source or commercial, together with the analysis of physical processes, provides cost-effective results in time and money (1D, RANS, LES, DNS).
