Research
Introduction
Research at CMT is divided in different areas. The overall budget is 8 millions euros, with approximately 60% coming from private funding and 40% coming from public funding at EU, national and regional level. The methodology is based in combining four basic and applied research together with experiments and modelling. Basic research to improve understanding of the relevant physical / chemical processes involved. Knowledge generation. (TRL 1,2,3). Applied studies to improve system behaviour and aid system development and innovation. Knowledge Transfer. (TRL 4,5,6). Accurate measurements obtained with “state of the art” experimental facilities. In-house developed, open or commercial CFD modelling software, together with the analysis of the physical processes, provides time and cost-effective results (1D, RANS, LES, DNS).
